What is Kanya Utthan Yojana?
Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana is a social welfare scheme of the Government of Bihar, which was launched in 2018. About 1.50 crore girls of the state will be able to avail the benefits of this scheme. Under the scheme, financial assistance is provided for the education of the girl child from birth to graduation. However, financial assistance is given in installments under this scheme.
In this, graduating girl students get an incentive amount of Rs 50. Under the Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana, one lakh 33 thousand girl students who will pass graduation by March 2023 can get benefits. For this, an amount of Rs 150 crore has been given to the education department by the state government. Girl students who have not been able to apply under Kanya Utthan Yojana can submit their applications till 31 March 2024.
